  • Jay Z’s new streaming service Tidal is a huge step backward for the music industry.

At Tidal’s launch event, Alicia Keyes stated, “Our goal is simple. We want to create a better service and a better experience for both fans and artists.” At first glance, this does seem to be the case. The service will offer higher quality audio and may be paying artists more. Even Taylor Swift is on board. But Tidal seems to be excluding the people who need it most.
